My Overall Experience at JWC

My experience at James Watt College has been really good I have learned a lot when I have been hear and I have enjoyed doing it as well, I have also meet lots of new people. I think the blog has been really handy you get to see other peoples work and what they do at college and how they create there looks so its really good to have this blog. I am also coming back next year to do my HNC.

Curriculum for Excellence

Curriculum for Excellence is the national curriculum for Scottish Schools for learners from age 3 to 18.This document identifies four key purposes of education that enable young people to become successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens, effective contributors. I would use this in every class by listing to what I need to do, so I can achieve my goals and be a successful. I would do that by just trying my best in every class.

The four Capacities are :

Children and young people are at the centre of learning provision. Our aspiration is that they should all develop the four capacities to become:

• successful learners
• confident individuals
• responsible citizens
• effective contributors

Alice in Wonderland

Alice:  Alice's make up for this movie would be your normal day make-up. You would start of by doing her foundation, then you would only give her a small amount of blusher on the cheeks, she is really quite pail so the blusher adds some colour to her skin, then on the eyes you would just give her some cream shadows with a small amount of mascara and eye liner.

The Mad Hatter:  You would start of by doing white face paint all over the face, then you would use a dark brown face paint on the cheeks and then blend it down to give it the sinked in look to the face, the eyes I would start to use some bright colours like pinks, yellows, blues, and greens and blend it up near to the eye brow, then I would put orange on the eye brows using face paint, then to finish I would put either a dark red or orange on the lips.

The White Queen:  You would  start of by doing white face paint all over the face, a dark red colour on the lips, you would also use either a dark brown or black and pencil in the eyebrows to make them look a lot darker than they really are, and you would use eyeliner on top and a small amount on the bottom of the eye and mascara.

     

Skin Care

I have a combination of skin I have really sensitive skin and dry skin to, so I find it hard sometimes to find makeup for my skin. The foundation I use L'OREL , and any other products I use is simple products. The effects of this is some product i miss out on using, and wipes I use some times leave me patchy as well.



History of Wigs

Back in ancient Egyptian times, wigs were worn over shaved heads, which allowed for greater comfort in hot climates and sun proteaction, and also provided a means by which individuals could stave off lice. Greeks, Romans, Assyrians, and Phoenicians also wore wigs too.
The term Whig was originally short for 'whiggamor', a term meaning "cattle driver" used to describe western Scots who came to Leith for corn.

DEVIL: I would do red all over the face using red grease paint, black on the lips, then black lines down the nose and then blend it down then nose, then black on the eye lid and under the eye too.

   QUEEN OF HEARTS:  On of my Halloween characters is the Queen of Harts. I done the Queen of Harts last year for my competition. I really enjoyed doing the make-up, I would put white face paint all over the face and some on the neck, then I would put baby blue grease paint on the eyes, red grease paint on the lips and I would out line the love heart with black grease paint to, then I would finish it with mascara for the eyes.

   










 WITCH: I would start of by doing green grease paint all over the face, then   I would start of doing the eyes I would use black grease paint on top of the eye lid. I would draw in black lines under the cheek boans and blen it down to give it the sinked in look to the face, I would draw in black eye brows, black lips using black grease paint again, I would also do black lines down each side of the nose and blend it down to then put white down the midldle of the nose to highlight it and the same with the cheek boans. Then to finnish of I would draw in a chin too.

  

History Of Makeup

 We know that for centuries, both men and women have enjoyed the indulgence of face makeup. But the history of face makeup dates thousands of years back to the 1 st Century Egyptians. The romans also used kohi for eye makeup and eyelash makeup to. The Romans also used chalk as a skin whitener and rouge. I really like to look at the way they had there make up back then and what they had to use. 

BarryM Bronzer

I like to buy my Bronzer from BarryM, you can buy alot of diffirent shades, so it helps me because i ware tan so I have alot of options. 

Avon Eyeshadow

I really like to get my Eyeshadows out of AVON, I bought an eyeshadow palette, I really like the colours, you get 8 diffirent coloures in each palette I bought the brown one and it is really good for my skin aswell because i have really semstive skin.

L'OREAL Foundation

I think this foundation is really good. One of the reasons why is because it comes in 20 diffirent colours so you have more of a chance to find a colour that matches your skin well, it also really good coverage and it does'nt  leave any tide marks. 

My Icons

Kelly Roland 

I found it hard to pick my style icon. It was out of Kelly Roland, Tyra Banks, and Rihanna. But i really like Kelly Roland's style, her make-up, hair and clothes 

My Week At College

This week at college I have been really busy, I done my Burns Assessment, Straight TV make-up (females), and Theatre make-up (females). Im really enjoying the course so far.

T.V Make-up

I had a good day in college today, I done my straight tv make up, thought I done well just need to work on my eye liner more.

Burns

Last week on a wednesday in special effects we done a burn on my Model Alison. To create this look I used greasepaints, latex, gellotine and some vaseline ect. I hope you like this look as it was my first real attempt at a housefire burn.

Hello my name is Nicolle Simon, I am 17 years old, I live in Scotland, I am at James Watt College studying to be a Make-up Artist this is my second year and I am really enjoying it so far.
